This has been one of the more chaotic off-season for LSU Baseball as Jay Johnson has been tasked with replacing staffers, managing transfers, and replacing the LSU Tigers he'll likely lose in the upcoming MLB Draft. Thus far Jay Johnson has added ten transfers while losing 14 players to the transfer portal.

The biggest area Jay Johnson has focused on is the pitching staff landing quality arms like Zac Cowan, Deven Sheerin, Chandler Dorsey, Luke Hayden, Jacob Mayers, and Connor Benge. The biggest needs remained at the catcher position and at third base as LSU looks to replace Tommy White.

The Tigers just filled the massive hole left by Tommy White's departure by landing Utah Valley infielder Daniel Dickinson. This is a massive addition for Jay Johnson and LSU Baseball, as Dickinson hit .367 with a .469 On Base Percentage, and a .661 slugging percentage while hitting 18 home runs and stealing 32 bases.

This is a massive addition for Jay Johnson especially as he'll lose the power production of Tommy White while Bear Jones has a decision to make once he sees where he's selected in the MLB Draft. Dickinson is a massive draft prospect himself, ranked by several outlets as a projected first round pick in 2025.

LSU Baseball's pushing their way towards a return to Omaha

The LSU Baseball team and Jay Johnson would likely call this past season a disappointment as they failed to return to Omaha after winning the College Baseball World Series the prior season. Jay Johnson has gone pedal to the metal this off-season landing nearly every big name in the transfer portal to pair with his talented group of returnees. We're still far away from the start of the College Baseball season but, on paper Jay Johnson has built a National Title Favorite.
