The LSU Baseball team despite massive losses to the MLB Draft and to the transfer portal have had arguably the best offseason of any team in College Baseball. The Tigers have landed the Nation's top recruiting class while getting a ton of the commitments to pass up the MLB to attend LSU. The team will also add the Nation's top transfer class as Jay Johnson rebuilt the pitching staff via the portal after losing Luke Holman, Gage Jump, Thatcher Hurd, and Griffin Herring to the MLB Draft.

Baseball America released its Way Too Early Top 25 with the LSU Tigers coming in at Number One. The SEC will be loaded this season with 11 of the top 25 teams while five SEC schools land inside the top ten.

This comes as no surprise as the LSU Baseball team returns six of its starting position players from the end of last season headlined by Steven Milam and Jared Jones. The pitching staff is loaded as the team has an elite transfer class coming in while Chase Shores should be fully recovered from Tommy John Surgery. Freshman Pitcher William Schmidt is the highest ranked pitcher to make it to college since Jack Leiter attended Vanderbilt.

Jay Johnson's put the Tigers in a place to win the National Championship

The players will need to perform next season but, this roster has enough talent to win another National Championship. This will be arguably the deepest team in the country but, the depth is starting caliber talent that could easily find it's way into a starting role on a Top 25 team. LSU has five starting pitchers capable of being most team's Friday Starter while the lineup will have no holes with the key pieces coming in. This upcoming season has the chance to be another special year just like 2023 and we can't wait to watch it unfold.
