At one point this off-season it appeared that the LSU Football team would be short staffed in the running back room. The Tigers saw veteran running back John Emery Jr enter the transfer portal however, that wasn't the loss that was going to hurt the Tigers the most.

Impressive rising Sophomore Trey Holly was dealing with an incident that saw him facing attempted murder charges which had him away from the team. The attempted murder charges were dropped nearly a month after the incident but, Holly still faced a felony weapons charge which kept him away from the team.

Brian Kelly always remained confident that Trey Holly would be back in camp early on however, the process has continued to drag on. The process appears to be reaching its end as Brian Kelly expects to have Trey Holly back in the weeks to come.

Trey Holly will join a young backfield which will be led by Josh Williams, Kaleb Jackson, John Emery Jr, and Caden Durham. If the LSU Football team gets Holly back into the fold, all of the questions about depth at the running back position will be solved after LSU got John Emery Jr back after he entered the transfer portal.

As a true freshman, Holly ran the ball 11 times for 110 yards averaging a massive 10.0 yards per carry while catching one pass for five yards. Holly will bring a big play ability to an LSU running back room tasked with replacing the production that Jayden Daniels and Logan Diggs managed in 2023.

While the offense lacks a top playmaker it's filled with weapons

This LSU Offense doesn't have a clear standout at wide receiver or running back that you can pencil in for a massive season like we've seen most seasons but, it has tons of weapons. The LSU Football team has four running backs that could easily lead the team in rushing while the Wide Receiver room could be led by any player as we've seen with LSU. Garrett Nussmeier should have a hoard of weapons at his disposal which should make his first season as a starter easier.
