LSU Football flips talented linebacker from South Carolina after Bayou Splash
This past weekend, LSU hosted recruits from all over the country for the annual Bayou Splash recruiting event. From all accounts, the event was a massive success and it was a when rather than an if for recruits commiting to LSU.
The Tigers reeled in 2026 in-state guard Jalan Chapman to cap off the weekend on Sunday Night. Today, LSU reels in its second visitor from Bayou Splash in 2024 linebacker Jaiden Braker who was previously committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks.
According to On3, Braker is the 44th ranked linebacker in the class and the 69th best player out of Georgia as a three-star recruit. Braker joins a talented group of commitments at linebacker in Charles Ross and Keylan Moses.
Ignore any rankings when it comes to linebacker as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Blake Baker has proven himself as a great eye for talent. Baker was the first SEC coach to offer LSU commit Charles Ross and he's now one of the most sought after recruits in the Country.
The Tigers have been heavily pursuing Braker but, Bayou Splash was the event that pushed him across the finish line as LSU's staff and commits did an excellent job on selling him the program.
July was such a massive month for LSU on the recruiting trail
When we get to National Signing Day, LSU fans will look back on the month of July as the month that built this class. You start with July fourth weekend where LSU built its defensive line landing Damien Shanklin, Zion Williams, and Brandon Brown. Then you look at weekends where LSU landed Jhase Thomas and Derek Meadows as two massive pieces in this class. The cherry on top was easily landing the Nation's highest ranked defensive player DJ Pickett in a massive recruiting win.
