As the LSU Football camp has been underway one of the areas that everyone has been impressed with is the tight end room. Mason Taylor is the obvious leader of the room but, Mac Markway, Ka'Morreun Pimpton, and Trey'Dez Green give the room loads of depth and versatility.

The room however took a shocking hit as Mac Markway steps away from the LSU Football program on Tuesday. Brian Kelly informed the media saying the following:

"He has made a decision that he's not gonna play. I don't know what his plans are, whether he's going to transfer."

Kelly later added that he isn't sure what Markways plans were whether it was to transfer or not but, the news comes as a shock. As a True Freshman, Markway caught three passes for 16 yards and a touchdown while appearing in 12 games with one start while Mason Taylor was injured. The Tigers will miss his ability as he could've been a key piece to both the passing and rushing attacks.

Heading into the season it looked like Mac Markway was the tight end behind Mason Taylor while both would be heavily used as the younger receivers gain experience.

Tight end is still one of LSU's strongest groups

Losing Mac Markway does deal a blow to the LSU Football team especially given the fact that he was only heading into his Sophomore season. Despite his departure, LSU's tight end room will still be a strong suit as exciting players like Pimpton and Green move up on the depth chart. Pimpton has been a standout throughout summer camp while Green's size and athleticism makes him a matchup nightmare and a chess piece for Joe Sloan and this offense.
