Heading into the season one of the biggest areas being watched on this LSU Football team in camp is on the defensive line. The Tigers lost their three starting defensive tackles and with Harold Perkins at linebacker the highest returning edge rusher recorded just 2.5 sacks in 2023. The Tigers didn't do a ton to bring in SEC caliber starters at edge rusher or defensive tackle meaning its going to all depend on who develops on this roster.

Bo Davis and Kevin Peoples have their work cut out for them and we'll see how well their abilities as developers translate in year one at LSU. The biggest asset for the LSU Football team for developing the defensive line may actually be on the opposite side of the football.

Every day of camp, the defensive line gets to go up against this incredible LSU offensive line. When you look at the Tigers' schedule, there isn't a stronger group than LSU's offensive line which bodes well for the defense in camp. If the edge rushers are able to win against players like Will Campbell and Emery Jones, they'll be fine against any group in the country. The same could be said for the defensive tackles against this interior offensive line.

Blake Baker spoke on the strength of LSU's offensive line and going against it each day saying the following:

"I think our offensive line is fantastic and I thought that last year when I was at Missouri. Sometimes, we hold up really well and sometimes we don't. I do believe we have one of the best offensive lines in the country so it's going to make us better."

The Tigers have plenty of talent in these groups

At Defensive Tackle, Jacobian Guillory returns the most experience while LSU's incoming transfers and freshmen bring in a ton of talent and excitement. At edge rusher, LSU returns a ton of pieces and with experience under their belts there's no reason to doubt they'll take a jump. Then LSU has more traditional defensive ends like Gabe Reliford who has been a standout in Spring and Summer camp which make you excited about the groups future.
