According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, LSU football is the favorite to add Micah DeBose to its 2025 recruiting class. Chad Simmons, On3’s Director of Recruiting, has also logged an expert prediction that the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 crop is headed to Baton Rouge.

DeBose is a consensus four-star recruit who will likely gain his fifth star during his senior season at Vigor HS in Prichard, Alabama. The offensive guard was originally committed to Georgia but de-committed from the Dawgs back in December.

It’s difficult to talk up offensive line prospects without the benefit of statistics. Nevertheless, a kid who is already 6-foot-4 and 340 pounds is a player that Brian Kelly wants to add to his roster.

The 2025 LSU football recruiting class ranks No. 1 and remains on pace to dethrone Texas A&M’s 2022 class as the highest-rated ever.

No. 1 prospect Bryce Underwood continues to headline Kelly’s next wave of the Tigers. The Belleville (MI) quarterback is actively working out ahead of his senior season of high school ball and actively promotes LSU sports on his social media accounts. The nation’s top running back, Harlem Berry, and top wide receiver, Dakorien Moore, also slot atop Kelly’s 2025 recruiting class.

The Tigers currently have nine hard commitments for next season. Adding DeBose would increase Kelly’s advantage and add to LSU’s impressive group of young offensive linemen. A pair of four-star interior offensive linemen, Shreveport’s Devin Harper and New Orleans’s Brett Borderlon, have already committed to playing college football in Death Valley.

Kelly prioritized the offensive line when he stepped foot on LSU’s campus. Pending juniors Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr. immediately impacted Kelly’s first season leading the Tigers and remained key COGs in 2023. However, 2023 marquee prospect Zalance Heard transferred to Tennessee in December.

LSU football will projects to return all starting linemen from 2023 except for center Charles Turner. Looking further ahead, the Tigers might field an entirely new unit for 2025. Campbell and Jones will be NFL Draft-eligible, and 2024 is the final college season for guards Garrett Dellinger and Miles Frazier.

Nevertheless, Kelly is actively reloading his offensive line with impressive blue chips. Hopefully, On3 is correct, and Micah DeBose is part of LSU’s future
