LSU football recruiting: Co-offensive coordinators pay visit to Alabama de-commit

LSU football continues working hard to build a potentially historic 2025 recruiting class. Attempting to capitalize on Alabama’s recent losses is included.

Brian Kelly has secured commitments from the nation’s top quarterback, running back, and wide receiver recruits for 2025. However, the LSU football coach is not slowing down. Recently, his staff met with an Alabama de-commit that would fit nicely into the next crop of Tigers.

LSU football recruiting specialist Sherman Wilson reposted a photo on X (Twitter) of co-offensive coordinators Joe Sloan and Cortez Hankton with Jaime Ffrench. The image shows the trio holding up the “L” while standing on the Mandarin High School campus in Jacksonville, Florida.

Needless to say, the Tigers offensive brain trust is currently on the recruiting trail in the Sunshine State.

Jaime Ffrench is listed by On3 as the No. 14 overall recruit and No. 3 wide receiver in the 2025 class. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect was committed to Alabama but opened his recruiting back up following Nick Saban’s retirement. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine lists the Crimson Tide as the favorite to sign Ffrench at 62.8%, but that number continues to drop.

LSU football adding Ffrench to its 2025 recruiting class would be a double-whammy of sorts. Indeed, Kelly adds another dynamic skill position player to his roster while simultaneously sticking it to Alabama. There’s still a ways to go for LSU to get a cap on the table for Ffrench’s signing day, but visiting the young man shows progress.

Ffrench made unofficial visits to Baton Rouge in June 2022 and March 2023. We expect him to make official visits during the 2024 season, including an invite to the next Bayou Splash recruiting event on LSU’s campus.

Ohio State, Florida State, and Florida are also listed by On3 as programs with odds to gain Jaime Ffrench’s letter of intent in December. However, we think Kelly’s 2025 recruiting momentum will result in the Tigers’ odds rising in the coming months.
