The 2023 season was a massive disappointment defensively as the Tigers couldn't stop anyone at points during the season. The season resulted in wholesale changes including Matt House and LSU Football parting ways. New Defensive Coordinator Blake Baker brings a ton of optimism that he'll return the defense to championship caliber.

EA College Football 25 believes in the LSU defense's potential heading into the season as the unit was rated an 84 Overall which ranks 18th in the Nation.

Being rated the 18th ranked defense would be a massive boost for the LSU Football team as they ranked 80th in the Nation in points allowed per game allowing 27.8 points per game while they ranked 106th in yards allowed per game allowing 408.8 Yards per game.

The LSU Football team's defense will have some incredibly exciting players to use in the upcoming video game. Harold Perkins will arguably be the most fun defensive player to use in the upcoming game whether he's used as an off ball linebacker or as an edge rusher. On the defensive line, Jacobian Guillory can stuff the run while true freshman Dominick McKinley will be a dominant player early on.

Speaking of freshmen, safety DaShawn Spears (McBryde) has the talent to be bumped up the depth chart early on, especially in Dynasty Mode. PJ Woodland will be in contention to start early on for LSU in real life while he'll certainly be a starter in the game.

LSU's Actual Defense will need to prove it on the field

Video Game ratings don't mean anything when it comes time to prove it on the field this season. The offense has the talent and the coaching to be one of the best offenses in the country but, if the Blake Baker led defense doesn't take a step forward, it'll be another season with great offensive results but, nothing notable as a team.
