LSU Football will be featured on College Gameday next weekend
The LSU Football team finished off their win over Nicholls State and while the game wasn't perfect a win is a win and the Tigers are in the win column. The Tigers now have under a week to prepare for their SEC opener on the road against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
This game will be challenging for the Tigers as the Gamecocks just put on an incredible performance beating Kentucky 31-6. The Gamecocks also boast a dual-threat quarterback in LaNorris Sellers who could give the defense a ton of problems if they can't take away his legs. Shane Beamer is likely coaching for his job this season which gives the team even more motivation.
The game just reached another level of intensity as the ESPN College Gameday crew will travel to Colombia to feature this game between LSU and South Carolina.
This week LSU will have to prepare for a raucous environment after playing a neutral site game and a home game to open the year. We've seen LSU have issues with false starts including in Vegas where Will Campbell couldn't hear Garrett Nussmeier which could be a concern next week.
Brian Kelly has a tough week ahead of him
Normally after a so-so showing from a team like LSU against a much inferior opponent, you'd want to practice the guys harder to prepare for the next game. Brian Kelly may not be able to as the team is beat up heading on the road. Four players aside from John Emery Jr missed the game with injuries while LSU took some damage in game. Jacobian Guillory hurt his ankle and was on the sideline in a cast and a wheelchair while Jordan Allen. Garrett Nussmeier, and Kyren Lacy all missed snaps with injuries. After a short week, Brian Kelly likely can't run his guys as much as he'd want.
