LSU Football will likely a target a bridge quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class
In the 2026 recruiting class, the LSU Football team was pursuing seven of the nations ten highest-ranked quarterbacks. Four had been committed coming into the weekend before Jonas Williams committed to Oregon and Faizon Brandon committed to Tennessee. If LSU still plans on landing one of the quarterbacks they've offered it'll have to be the Nation's 12th-ranked player Ryder Lyons who is seen as a heavy USC lean.
If LSU doesn't land one of the Nation's elite quarterbacks however, it's not a big deal and in many ways expected. The Tigers have the Nation's best quarterback on board in Bryce Underwood in the 2025 recruiting class which creates a difficult path to early playing time for the top quarterbacks in the 2026 signing class. Now if the Tigers are going to sign a quarterback in this class they'll likely develop a bridge development player.
There hasn't been a quarterback in-state that has stood out in recruiting but, this season could put an in-state signal caller on the map for Joe Sloan while the Tigers can easily go out of state as well.
The 2027 recruiting class doesn't even have rankings yet but, the LSU Football team will have some great options. Elijah Haven is a Baton Rouge native that's 6"4 and has already picked up offers from schools like Ole Miss, Miami, and Florida. Another solid option early on is Colton Nussmeier the younger brother of Garrett who was at LSU camp earlier this summer.
An incredible problem to have for LSU Football
The LSU Football team could've been struggling to land recruits for other reasons but, struggling because you already have an elite recruit on board is a great issue to have. The Tigers are a long way away from signing the 2025 class let alone the 2026 and 2027 classes which means the Tigers have plenty of time to get signal callers on board.
