LSU seemingly made a strong impression on Dakorien Moore this weekend but, will it be enough?

For a long time the LSU Tigers were able to boast that they had commitments from the Nation's top quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. That changed a month ago when the Nation's top receiver Dakorien Moore reopened his recruitment decommitting from LSU.

This weekend's visit was unlike any other as the LSU Tigers went from hosting double-digit recruits to only one and that was Dakorien Moore. It was all hands on deck for LSU as the sole focus was getting Moore back into the fold with LSU.

Moore has come with an even higher set of stakes as the Nation's second and fourth ranked receivers Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench have all talked about the trio teaming up together with the front runner appearing to be Texas. After making strong impressions on Ffrench and Lockett last weekend this weekend was all about Moore.

The main concern from Dakorien Moore and his group is NIL as LSU didn't show all that they could do for Moore off the field. This weekend changed that as LSU involved everyone from coaching to marketing to speak with Moore after he visited Ja'Marr Chase this week.

All reports indicate that LSU did an incredible job with their pitch to Moore but, the question now becomes will it be enough? LSU can do everything in its power to land Moore but, if NIL is the main factor then Texas may win out. The Longhorns displayed its strong NIL program with one of the most preposterous showings we've seen in the NIL era:

If Moore's commitment comes down to fit and the ability to get to the NFL then LSU should win out as the league's top two receivers have come from LSU while Texas has put one arguable star receiver in the NFL since 2000.

Back to business next weekend

After having only Dakorien Moore on campus this weekend LSU will have a different type of recruiting weekend next week as it returns to hosting a ton of guests. One of the biggest focuses will be on five-star linebacker and baseball standout Jonah Williams whom Jay Johnson offered so Brian Kelly may have some help this weekend. Also in attendance will be four-star receivers CJ Wiley and Naeshaun Montgomery both of whom LSU are in play before but, certainly trail. If nothing changes, Corey Raymond will get a chance to lock down commitments as he hosts Kade Phillips, CJ Jimcoily, and Todd Robinson. The recruitment of Jimcoily is seemingly between Alabama and LSU so the Tigers would love to shut down his recruitment this weekend.
