The LSU Football program got late night news that certainly stings as five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore has de-committed from LSU via Instagram. Moore is ranked as the third best player in the 2025 recruiting class and the top receiver. The Tigers initially landed a commitment from Moore in August of 2023.

The news of Moore fully reopening his commitment doesn't come as a shock as Moore has continued taking visits to programs despite his commitment. The Texas Longhorns in particular have been the biggest threat to flip Moore as he's taken a few visits and they're one of the biggest players in NIL.

The recruitment of Moore will likely come down until National Signing Day as Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, and LSU will all continue their push for the classes top receiver.

While losing Moore hurts, the LSU 2025 recruiting class is still in a great place with the Nation's second ranked recruiting class. The talent on offense is still an impressive haul as things currently stand with the Nation's top quarterback, running back, and two of the top ten guards. The Tigers' top receiver in the class currently is TaRon Francis an in-state four-star recruit fittingly nicknamed "The Manchild".

There are a few candidates in this class to replace Moore

LSU will certainly continue to be one of the biggest players in the recruitment of Moore as long as Bryce Underwood is committed but, if Moore doesn't recommit there are a few players LSU can still sign at wide receiver. The team has been pushing hard for Texas Native Kaliq Lockett the class's second-ranked receiver and may push even harder with the loss of Moore. Former Alabama commit Jaime Ffrench is a player LSU has ramped up it's recruitment of and will be a competitor for him down the stretch. Four-Star Texas Native Jacorey Watson is another name to watch as LSU is considered the front runner in his recruitment.
