The LSU Football program has made its intentions clear in the transfer portal, build up the defensive line specifically on the interior. The LSU Tigers have been hosting top defensive tackles early on in the transfer portal as they try to replace the production of Maason Smith, Mekhi Wingo, and Jordan Jefferson.

On3.com the go to for all things recruiting has updated it's predictions for where the transfers end up based on the latest trends.

Simeon Barrow Jr the second-ranked transfer defensive tackle out of Michigan State has been predicted to end up at LSU. Barrow Jr arrived in Baton Rouge on Monday for a visit with the LSU Football program. The Michigan State defensive tackle posted 36 tackles with 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 2023. Landing Barrow Jr would give the LSU Tigers an instant starter as Barrow enters his Senior year.

Damonic Williams is ranked as the top transfer defensive tackle in the transfer portal this Spring as he leaves TCU. LSU is given a 37% chance to land Williams trailing only Colorado who is given a 42.3% chance. Williams will visit LSU on April 30th and May 1st in what may be his final visits before entering the transfer portal. If LSU could come away with both Barrow Jr and Williams it would be a massive success for Brian Kelly as the team looks to rebuild it's defensive line.

LSU Football: More Scholarships to work with

LSU Football entered the transfer window over the scholarship limit meaning the team had to shed a few players without adding anyone. After a few surprising departures Brian Kelly and the coaching staff now have a few extra scholarships to work with meaning the team can pursue additional talent at other positions. The LSU Football team should explore any options on the defensive side of the football outside of safety while on offense the team could use a body at running back after losing John Emery Jr.
