This season, the SEC is relieved that Nick Saban is no longer pacing Alabama's sideline after his reign of dominance. College Football fans should be even happier as we get to hear Nick Saban share his thoughts on a weekly basis giving us great insights into the sport.

On Saturday, Nick Saban was a part of the College Football Gameday desk where he spoke glowingly about Garrett Nussmeier:

"I think Garrett Nussmeier is going to be one of the all-time sleepers in college football this year at Quarterback. LSU always has skill guys. They're talking about all the receivers they lost, you could shake a tree in Louisiana and them guys would fall out."

Nick Saban

Nick Saban certainly knows a thing or two especially about Louisiana given his time spent coaching the Tigers and recruiting in the state. Saban has seen Nussmeier in game action as Nussmeier filled in for Jayden Daniels this past season going 5-10 for 53 yards against one of the Nation's best defenses which was able to sit back against the pass with a lead.

One of the reasons that many are skeptical about LSU in 2024 is because of the change at quarterback. That didn't matter to Nick Saban as he put the LSU Football team in his college football playoff bracket.

Many are questioning this offense too because of the departures of Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. Saban dispelled this concern and he's right as the Tigers are constantly replacing NFL caliber receivers with receivers of the same or better ability.

If Nick Saban believes in this group you should too

The Tigers have clashed with Saban and despite his tenure at LSU, it would've been easy for him to count out his longtime rival. It's no secret that Nick Saban is a genius when it comes to College Football and if he believes in a team his inclination is probably right. For what it's worth, Saban also spoke glowingly about Lincoln Riley and USC so we'll get to see two of his dark horses faceoff in Week One.
