When Blake Baker came back to LSU from Missouri the defense wasn't the only group getting an overhaul. Baker will also coach the LSU Football team's linebacking core which he did exclusively in 2021. When Baker was in Baton Rouge he led Damone Clark to a breakout season where he finished as an All-American.

Thus far as a recruiter, Blake Baker has shown his prowess as LSU holds commitments from three linebackers accounting for one of the Nation's best classes.

The credit for landing Keylan Moses belongs to Frank and Sherman Wilson as the Tigers got Moses on board in November but, Blake Baker and the defensive staff do deserve some credit for keeping Moses at LSU. They especially deserve credit as LSU hasn't always fared well landing players from University Labs while Dylan Moses went to Alabama.

The crown Jewel of Blake Baker's class was once seen as a three-star recruit in Charles Ross. When LSU offered Ross his only other Power 5 offers were from Pitt and California. Ross now sits inside the top-100 according to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings as the 98th-best recruit. The speed of Ross jumps off the tape and its impossible to feel anything except for excited about Ross.

The latest player Blake Baker has brought in for the linebacking core is former South Carolina commit Jaiden Braker. The Tigers jumped in fairly late for Braker however, once the Tigers offered, they became the top choice. While Braker is only a three-star recruit, he's massive with incredible speed which when paired with Blake Baker will make him a top player for the Tigers.

The entire defensive staff is recruiting at an elite level

We haven't had the chance to watch the new defense in game action but, the coaching staff has built excitement on the recruiting trail. Bo Davis continues to flip top defensive tackles to LSU which has everyone excited for what he'll do with the current group. Corey Raymond was able to lure in the Nation's top defensive back which has been a massive boost in this class. Kevin Peoples has landed two top tier edge rushers in this class who'll be massive pieces going forward.
