The LSU Football team pulled off a stunner on the recruiting trail landing five-star cornerback DJ Pickett after On3 gave the Oregon Ducks as 93% chance of landing him while putting Miami ahead of LSU as well. The Tigers now have three five-star commitments in Pickett, Bryce Underwood, and Harlem Berry which has put LSU's recruiting class third in the Nation.

The LSU Football team may not be done with landing five star talents however as they've positioned themselves well with several recruits.

Starting with Derek Meadows who will announce his commitment on Saturday, picking between LSU, Notre Dame, Alabama, and Michigan. Meadows is ranked as the 32nd recruit in the country according to 24/7 Sports and the 41st-ranked recruit overall according to On3's Industry Rankings. This recruitment is seemingly between LSU and Notre Dame with LSU trending late. Wide Receiver is one of the biggest needs in this recruiting class and landing the 6 foot 6 talented receiver would be massive for this class.

The recruiting dead period comes to an end next weekend where the LSU Football team will host its Bayou Splash recruiting event to end the Summer. The Tigers will hope to get five-star wide receivers Jaime Ffrench and Kaliq Lockett in town for the event as On3's Steve Wiltfong feels the Tigers are in play for both.

If you are looking to attend a school where you can win a National Championship in Football and in Baseball the pick has to be LSU. That will continue to be the pitch that Brian Kelly and Jay Johnson make to five-star safety and elite baseball recruit Jonah Williams whom the Tigers hosted this spring. The Tigers will certainly push to get another visit from the Texas native prior to his commitment but, they'll have a hat on the table come decision time.

There's one more recruit that the Tigers will keep their eye on however, he hails from the 2026 recruiting class. In-state defensive tackle Jahkeem Stewart is ranked as the top player in the 2026 recruiting class by On3 but, he's considered a candidate to reclassify. Keeping a player like Stewart in state is why Brian Kelly brought Bo Davis back so expect the Tigers to push hard for Stewart regardless of which class he ends up in.

Tough time to be someone who says "Brian Kelly can't recruit"

When Brian Kelly took the LSU Football job, Notre Dame fans and those who hate LSU said that Brian Kelly can't recruit. The Tigers now hold the nation's third-ranked recruiting class, with some of the nation's best players in every position. This recruiting class is helping Brian Kelly's case that the LSU Football program is more attractive to High School recruits and we're here for it.
