The LSU Football team has a helpful schedule wrinkle in 2024

The LSU Football team is just two weeks away from the start of their season when they'll take on the USC Trojans in Las Vegas. Despite losing Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr there is a ton of optimism around the LSU Football team. One reason why fans are so high on the LSU Football team is the relative ease of the Tigers' schedule.

The Tigers will seemingly play three games where the Tigers will be in toss up matchups when they take on the USC Trojans, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Ole Miss Rebels. The expanded football playoff may only require that LSU wins one of these games while two wins would all but guarantee LSU a spot in the playoff.

The Tigers schedule plays a massive part in one of these matchups and could help LSU in making the playoff. When LSU takes on Ole Miss, they'll be coming off of a bye week while the Ole Miss Rebels will be playing their 7th games in 7 weeks which is quite a grind.

Now rest advantages don't guarantee anything but, they'll certainly help the Tigers in this game. A massive part of winning games is playing teams at the right time and the LSU Football team got one of their hardest matchups in the perfect spot.

Winning versus the Trojans could determine the season for LSU

The opening game against the USC Trojans is a matchup that many see as a toss up but, it's a must win for the LSU Football team. The Tigers haven't won the season opener since 2019, which is a streak that must end this season. Beating USC would give LSU an early top 25 win which would in turn put LSU in an early but, great position to make the College Football Playoff.
