The month of September will be filled with recruiting visits for LSU Basketball
The LSU Basketball team has yet to land a commitment this month but, that's not a major issue as a majority of the programs around the country have yet to land a commitment. If Matt McMahon is going to continue his success from last season on the recruiting trail, it starts with the month of September. The Tigers will have a massive month of recruiting visits in September and if they go well, we'll see the commitments start to roll in for the LSU Basketball team.
It starts next week as the Tigers will host four-star power forward Matt Gilhool on Saturday for the Nicholls State game. On3 ranks Gilhool as the 68th best player in the country and the 14th best power forward. The Tigers are one of Gilhool's final six teams along with some SEC rivals and teams closer to his home in PA so the Tigers will need to impress.
The following week the Tigers will host a pair of top priority recruits in Jalen Reece and Kayden Edwards. Reece is one of McMahon's top priorities as the Tigers have turned up the heat as his official visit nears. Kayden Edwards is another guard that the Tigers would love to land and LSU has had recruiting success at Duncanville where the Football team landed Caden Durham. Joining them on campus as well is Mazi Mosley another talented guard from Montverde academy where McMahon and his staff landed Vyctorius Miller last cycle.
On the final weekend of the month, the LSU Basketball team will host four-star power forward A'mare Bynum. Nebraska is the front runner for the Omaha native but, impressing Bynum could go a long way. The Top-100 recruit is teammates with LSU's top recruiting target Chris Cenac at Link Academy and the Tigers may be able to get him on campus again in November when Cenac comes to town.
Another impressive class is a must for Matt McMahon
Entering this upcoming season, the LSU Basketball team is projected to finish at or near the bottom of the SEC by every analyst. The Tigers will surprise many when they take the court but, this year won't be a massive year like we saw under Will Wade. If the Tigers are going to get back to competing for SEC Titles and making deep runs in March it starts with stacking elite recruiting classes on a regular basis.
