Two LSU Football Rookie's Make Rookie of The Year Bet
The LSU Football team had an incredible draft day highlighted by Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr going in the first round of the draft. For the foreseeable future, Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers will play against each other twice a year as NFC East Rivals. The pair have seemingly added a little more to the rivalry with a friendly wager.
The pair have revealed on podcasts that they have bet $10,000 on whichever of them wins Rookie of the Year. The pair trail Caleb Williams in the Rookie of the Year odds as he's +200 while Daniels is 2nd at +650 while Nabers is fifth at +1400.
Jayden Daniels has the seeming advantage as four of the last ten Rookie of the Year winners have played quarterback while three played wide receiver. If Malik Nabers wins the award, he'd become the third New York Giant to win the award in the past ten years joining Odell Beckham Jr and Saquon Barkley. The last Washington Commanders winner of the Rookie of the Year was Robert Griffin III in 2012.
If either were to win the award, they'd become the fourth rookie of the year from LSU joining Ja'Marr Chase, Odell Beckham Jr, and AJ Duhe.
It's unclear whether the two will be able to follow through on the bet due to the NFL's gambling rules but, it certainly gives us a fun storyline to follow as Daniels and Nabers begin their NFL careers.
Great matchups set to come
While we'll have to wait until May 15th for the official NFL Schedule reveal we do know that we'll see Nabers and Daniels face off twice in 2024. We'll also get to see Mekhi Wingo and the Lions take on Brian Thomas Jr, Maason Smith, and Jordan Jefferson in 2024. It's truly exciting to see the LSU Draft picks start their careers and we'll certainly circle the dates on our calendars to see these LSU greats face off.
