What LSU football fans did not get for Christmas

5. We asked that Notre Dame football fans would go away
Notre Dame football fans cannot get enough of hating on LSU football. We asked Santa to make them go away. But as of December 25th, they’re still flooding social media with content that suggests the Irish football program is more relevant.
Mike Denbrock departed LSU football for the offensive coordinator position with Notre Dame for a few reasons, none of which includes the concept that Irish offensive coordinator is a better job. Indeed, Denbrock opted to return to a familiar university that is within two hours of his hometown. The money Notre Dame is throwing Denbrock’s way also helps.
According to sources, the Irish will pay their new offensive coordinator more than $2 million per season. The deal guarantees $9 million over four years. That’s a raise from the $1.8 million that Denbrock was going to get from LSU football in 2024.
Nevertheless, Notre Dame fans are using the Denbrock move as a means to get back at LSU football for Brian Kelly. Kelly departed the Irish for Baton Rouge in November 2021. It was a move that left Notre Dame fans in shock and awe. The head coach was linked to a few NFL and marquee college football vacancies over the years, but Irish football fans swore their head coach would never leave such a prestigious university.
Then, the unthinkable, Kelly left for a better job with LSU football. Two years later, Notre Dame fans cannot get over the proof that better jobs than those in South Bend exist. Now, we need Notre Dame fans to leave our X (Twitter) and Facebook feeds forever.
They’re annoying, and most are grandchildren of Midwest geezers that remember the days when Notre Dame and Army were the college football powerhouses. Maybe next year, Santa will force Irish football fans to move on with their lives and leave the significant football talk to fans of SEC and Big 10 programs.
Merry Christmas to all LSU football fans and their families.
