This time of year all focus is on the upcoming football season and building out the 2025 recruiting class especially for a program like LSU Football who has playoff aspirations. While the 2025 recruiting class holds the most weight under the radar is the amount of 2026 relationships being built on every campus each weekend.

This week, two of LSU Football's top targets at quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class came off the board starting with four-star quarterback Dia Bell who is ranked as the nation's second-best quarterback as he committed to Texas. Then, Brady Hart, the class's tenth-ranked quarterback committed to Michigan after visiting LSU this summer.

The biggest name to know in this class currently is Faizon Brandon, the top quarterback in this class. The LSU Football team has gotten Brandon on campus three times for visits thus far and Joe Sloan is starting to build a strong relationship. Landing Brandon may be tough with Bryce Underwood in the 2025 recruiting class but, thus far LSU has made a strong pitch. Tennessee, NC State, Florida State, and Alabama will be tough to hold off but, early on LSU has put themselves in the race.

In total, LSU has made offers to seven 2026 quarterbacks but, Jared Curtis, Dia Bell, and Brady Hart have all committed. Outside of Faizon Brandon, the LSU Football team hasn't made strong connections with any other 2026 quarterbacks.

Four-Star Ryder Lyons picked up an LSU scholarship offer at the end of May and could become a top priority for Joe Sloan. Troy Huhn picked up his scholarship offer in February and LSU may become a front-runner as Texas and Michigan both landed quarterbacks after leading in the race for Huhn. The other name that LSU offered is Jonas Williams a four-star recruit who may have the most wide-open recruitment of them all.

Lack of an in-state standout hurts LSU's chances

Despite the massive amount of in-state talent in the 2026 recruiting class, the massive position lacking talent is quarterback. There are no ranked recruits at the quarterback position out of Louisiana in this class. What makes things great for Brian Kelly and his staff is having Bryce Underwood in the 2025 recruiting class as you can get away with not signing a quarterback in the 2026 class.
