Power Ranking the SEC as the Bulldogs win, the Tide lose, and LSU continues to rise
This weekend could've been a massive trap for the LSU Football team as the Tigers were coming off of a massive emotional victory against Ole Miss. Instead, the Tigers handled their business against Arkansas from the jump scoring on their first drive of the game and they never looked back. The Tigers are still unbeaten in the SEC and as teams start to take their second and third losses in conference play, LSU has positioned itself perfectly to go on a run and to potentially make the SEC Championship game if they continue to play well.
This weekend's game wasn't pretty by any means but, any time the fanbase gets to light up their cigars is a great weekend for the program. The Volunteers offense hasn't been nearly as explosive as everyone would have expected and yet it hasn't killed the Vols except for against Arkansas. The Volunteers' defense was incredible all game and if Josh Heupel can figure out how to get this offense going this team could be dangerous down the stretch.
If you are a Texas fan, Saturday night was all of your biggest fears in one game as Texas lost to Georgia. Steve Sarkisian lost another big game and created a quarterback controversy in the process by benching Quinn Ewers for Arch Manning just to reinsert Ewers. The offensive line looked outmatched against Georgia which is a massive concern for the Longhorns hopes of winning the National Title. There aren't many teams that can make Texas look the way they did but, they're the teams that Texas would need to beat to win a Title.
The Georgia Bulldogs continue to prove that they only played one bad half off football against Alabama and look like the best team in the country. The Bulldogs dominated the game making the Longhorns offense look completely out of sync. The defense was so good in this game that the offense had no issue winning a game where Carson Beck threw two interceptions which should be a massive positive for this group.
