The LSU Football team currently holds the Nation's 2nd ranked recruiting class and the question in Baton Rouge is "Who's next?". The Tigers have gone on a tear this spring landing recruit after recruit setting the Tigers up for an exciting summer as Brian Kelly and his staff look to build out this class. While LSU has one of the best classes in America, the Tigers only hold 9 commitments which means LSU needs to keep adding elite talent to finish off the recruiting cycle.
On Monday, the LSU Football team got exciting news as On3's Steve Wiltfong projected that 5-star offensive lineman Darius Gray would commit to LSU. The news was exciting for the Tigers as it would mark the 3rd 5-star to join this recruiting class giving LSU another headliner. The news of Darius Gray's next visit however, is a little unsettling for LSU's hopes of closing out this recruitment.

According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, Gray is a 5-star recruit ranked as the 32nd best player in the class, the top interior offensive lineman, and the 2nd ranked player out of Georgia.
While LSU is the presumed front runner for Darius Gray, the 5-star going on a visit to Georgia is never a good feeling with the level Georgia recruits at. Ever since arriving at Georgia, Kirby Smart has turned the Bulldogs into an NFL Factory which will be appealing to any top recruit even with Brad Davis’ track record at LSU.
The LSU Football team will have a vested interest in the Nation’s top ranked recruit Jackson Cantwell committing on Tuesday even with the Tigers not being in the race. Cantwell committing to Georgia would be good news for LSU as the Bulldogs would fill another offensive line hole while likely dishing out a massive NIL deal to the Nation’s top player.
The counter argument is that if Gray is going to play guard at the next level, playing next to an elite offensive tackle like Jackson Cantwell is appealing. Georgia continues to surge on the recruiting trail after landing Jared Curtis and landing Cantwell could only make this recruitment tougher on LSU.
