Ranking the 5 Biggest Winners and losers of Rivalry Weekend: Ohio State flops again
Winner - Georgia Bulldogs
On Friday Night, the Georgia Bulldogs were down 17-0 at half against Georgia Tech and it looked like the College Football Playoff picture was going to get even messier. Then we saw Georgia's offense finally find its groove outscoring Georgia Tech 27-10 in the Second half to send this game to overtime.
In overtime, Georgia answered the bell every time whether the defense needed to get a stop to keep the game alive or if the offense needed to score a 2 point conversion to stay alive. That type of scare is the best possible outcome for Kirby Smart as his team dug deep and found something and he should get a more focused team going forward.
Loser - Whoever created the new College Football Overtime rules
As Georgia and Georgia Tech were battling back and forth the entire second half and the first two overtimes it was an incredible game. The new rules however sent us to College Football's version of Soccer Penalty Kicks or Hockey Penalty shots as both teams needed to only convert two-point conversions. When did we decide we want football to end sooner? It makes no sense to decide hard fought games on a gimmick like the two point conversion rather than continuing to play real football.
