When LSU landed elite wide receiver recruit Tristen Keys on Wednesday, the message was that LSU wasn't done making waves on the recruiting trail. As the Spring progresses, the LSU Football team will look to ride the momentum as they look to build out this recruiting class which is currently ranked as the top class Nationally.
The Tigers have built this class on In-State recruits as six of the Tigers' commitments come from Louisiana. While the Tigers have built a great base with In-State recruits, there's still some work to be done as several of Louisiana's top players still aren't on board for the Tigers.
According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, that could change in the near future as he put in an On3 RPM prediction for LSU to land Franklin Parish star Dezyrian Ellis during his show on Thursday.
"Dez Ellis is an In-State corner that's not as valued Nationally but, I'm logging an On3 RPM in favor of the Tigers for him. LSU loves him in the secondary, this another guy that Corey Raymond and company are in the middle of it for, I think they keep Dez Ellis In-State."Steve Wiltfong
LSU made a similar move recently when they landed Ju'Juan Johnson who rewrote the Louisiana High School record books before starting his career at safety before moving to running back and now landing back in the Quarterback room.
The Tigers have a massive advantage with the safeties in this recruiting class as two of the top five safeties in the class hail from Louisiana while LSU already nabbed Aiden Hall from Edna Karr. At corner LSU doesn't have a massive pool to pull from on the home front but, Corey Raymond offered Ellis earlier this Winter and he could be the first cornerback to get on board for LSU.

Given that Ellis plays Quarterback at the High School level, LSU will be keeping a close eye on how he plays the position during the 7 on 7 tournaments but, this Spring he's already showing promise.

The Tigers have done an excellent job on recruiting the top players early on and with Corey Raymond likes a three-star recruit, plenty of schools are going to follow with offers as he's one of the best at evaluating talent.
