When the LSU Baseball team suffered a loss on Thursday Night to the South Carolina Gamecocks it made the rest of the series difficult for the LSU Tigers. In order to earn a Top 4 seed in the SEC Tournament which gives each Top 4 seed two byes, the Tigers likely needed to win 2 of 3 games. On Friday, Kade Anderson did just what the Tigers needed shutting the Gamecocks down allowing the offense to crush the Gamecocks staff.

Heading into the final day of the Regular Season, the vast majority of the seeds in the top of the SEC are still up for grabs. The Texas Longhorns are locked in as the top seed and after that the battle for the 3 remaining double byes are up for grabs.

The race for seeds 2 through 4

  • #2 Arkansas: 19-10
  • #3 LSU: 18-11
  • #4 Vanderbilt: 18-11
  • #5 Georgia: 17-12

The LSU Baseball team could get locked into a Top 4 seed without winning if the Georgia Bulldogs loses once more to Texas A&M. While it's a path, the LSU Baseball team should handle business on their own if this is a team that is going to go on a run in the NCAA Tournament.

The LSU Baseball team couldn't have asked for a better pitching plan heading into the final game of the Regular Season as the red-hot Anthony Eyanson will toe the slab for the Tigers. Over the last month, Eyanson has allowed just 4 runs while pitching 26.2 innings with 45 strikeouts.

The goal for LSU will be seeing of the Tigers can carry their momentum on offense after a stretch where the Tigers' offense has shown flaws, struggling in SEC Play. Jared Jones will need to continue providing the offense while the Tigers are simply a more talented team than the Gamecocks, which is the biggest factor for LSU.
