The Winter is finally drawing to a close meaning the Spring is right around the corner. For College Football fans, the arrival of Spring brings about new hope as College Football teams get to kick off their Spring practices. The LSU Tigers kick off their Spring practices on March 8th, building excitement as LSU's highly touted offseason additions begin to gel with the returning players.
When LSU takes to the practice field this Spring, the Tigers will be without two of their star defenders in Whit Weeks and Harold Perkins Jr. Brian Kelly told the Advocate Baton Rouge that both Harold Perkins Jr and Whit Weeks will miss Spring Practice but, they're on track to be available this Summer.

The news of both Perkins and Weeks missing practice this Spring isn't great news but, it was expected. The Tigers having both back this Summer is critical as they'll both play massive roles in the defense while Whit Weeks will wear the green dot putting him in charge of making sure everyone is lined up correctly.
Harold Perkins Jr tore his ACL against UCLA on an awkward hit, the timetable for recover is typically 9 months so Perkins missing this Spring is as expected. Perkins was projected to be a first round pick coming into last season but, LSU was able to get him back into the fold after the injury and will look to capitalize.
Whit Weeks enjoyed a breakout season quickly becoming a household name for LSU fans and a player that started to gain recognition nationally. Weeks has become the leader of LSU both emotionally and on the field with a chance to play his way into becoming a first round pick this season. In the Texas Bowl where Weeks broke his fibula, everyone got to see how Weeks' teammates felt about him.
In the long run, Weeks and Perkins were always going to start for the Tigers but, this Spring now gives Dahvon Keys, West Weeks, and some of the Tigers young linebackers a chance to step up and develop serving as insurance in case Weeks were to get injured in season. As long as Perkins and Weeks are back on the field for the Summer the Tigers will be fine and there is no massive concern.
