Thanks to LSU, the Florida Gators have life on the recruiting trail
This weekend, the LSU Football team lost to the Florida Gators which was a terrible loss for LSU and a massive win for the Gators. The Gators fanbase was down on the team as Billy Napier was given at least one more season by athletic director Scott Stricklin. The Gators desperately needed any positive momentum and LSU not playing to the standard gave them that momentum.
The Gators have taken that momentum onto the recruiting trail which is massive news for Florida's program. Prior to Florida's win, the Gators had just 12 recruits in their recruiting class which was a massive concern.
Since the win, Florida has flipped three-star offensive lineman Daniel Pierre Louis from Florida State, landed four-star quarterback Tramell Jones who recently decommitted from Florida State, and landed three-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers a former Georgia commit.
The momentum hasn't stopped there however as it looks like the Gators may carry that momentum all the way into National Signing Day. Five-Star Defensive Back and Ohio State commit Na'eem Offord is now considering Florida a serious contender after visiting this weekend.
Another former top LSU target, five-star wide receiver and Texas commit Jaime Ffrench was also in town and the hometown Gators are now seen as a serious contender at flipping him. This makes a ton of sense as DJ Lagway put his talent on full display while dealing with an injury which has to excite Wide Receivers.
The momentum with five-star wide receivers doesn't stop there as the Gators are now also considered to be the top threat to flip Dallas Wilson from Florida.
When you have a chance to put a team down you have to in the SEC
Two weeks ago when Alabama came to Baton Rouge, the Crimson Tide absolutley demolished LSU in front of 300 recruits. This weekend for LSU could've been the same thing and put a massive damper on Florida's biggest recruiting weekend. Now, LSU and other programs in the SEC will have to be on high alert as the Gators are starting to pick up some serious steam just weeks away from Early Signing Day.
