The month of January has been filled with Baseball Polls and rankings of the top players and teams as the College Baseball season is just a few weeks away from Opening Dat. The LSU Baseball team has been one of the teams garnering the most attention after loading up using the transfer portal this offseason.
Jay Johnson took losing in the Chapel Hill Regional personally and did a great job with player retention, recruiting, and managing the transfer portal to build a roster that is loaded from top to bottom for the 2025 College Baseball Season.
Thus far, LSU has debuted at 2nd in Perfect Game USA's Preseason Top 25 and 3rd in D1 Baseball's Top 25. The Tigers add another impressive ranking as D1 Baseball has the LSU Baseball Team as the second best team in the Country heading into the season.

The LSU Baseball team ranks second trailing only Texas A&M who has been ranked 1st in the vast majority of the Preseason Top 25's. The SEC looks to be as talented as ever with the Top 4 teams in the Country, 5 top 10 teams, and 10 of the Top 25 teams in America.
The expectation for this team was set in the offseason when Jay Johnson landed the Nation's Best Recruiting and transfer classes. The goals are sky high heading into the season, given how this team is constructed, LSU will be expected to be one of the top teams in the SEC, to host a Regional, a Super Regional, and to return to Omaha. There's no denying LSU is one of if not the most talented team in America and now Jay Johnson is tasked with getting all of the pieces to gel and play together as a team. It should be another exciting year as we all count down the days until the weather is warmer and Alex Box Stadium is jam packed for College Baseball season.
