The LSU Football team lost on Saturday Night for the second time this season and its certainly disappointing as LSU had a chance to take hold of first place in the SEC. The loss against USC to open the season was always going to age poorly and hurt the Tigers and it hurts LSU even more after that game.

In most seasons, suffering your second loss before November all but eliminated you from contention for the College Football Playoff. Now with the 12 team College Football Playoff, LSU's playoff hopes aren't dead but, the Tigers have a tough road to get themselves into the conversation.

After the game, Brian Kelly was asked if LSU was out of the mix for the Playoff and he said no and his sentiment was right.

"We lost our margin. We have no margin for error."

If LSU had won on Saturday Night they'd be unbeaten in the SEC with just one loss overall but, now they have two losses and one in the SEC meaning they no longer control their own destiny.

LSU's path to the College Football Playoff now requires getting healthy on the bye week and then beating Alabama, Florida, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma in the month of Novemeber. This won't be an easy path for LSU, Alabama's offense is still explosive, Florida's offense could give any team fits, Venderbilt has played Texas close and beat Alabama, and Oklahoma's defense can make any game a rock fight.

The Tigers may also need some help from some other teams down the stretch with some upset wins to give LSU a better chance. Next week LSU will get some help as either Ohio State or Penn State will lose but, we won't know how much help LSU will need until the committee unveils its rankings.

When you look at LSU's schedule, they're expected to beat every team except for Alabama which will be a toss up. Brian Kelly has a really talented team and he now has two weeks to gameplan for an Alabama team that is vulnerable as we've seen this season. The Tigers need to knock off the Tide in Tiger Stadium because if not, the final three games will be meaningless.
