While everyone remembers high flying passing attacks in the 2023 Magnolia Bowl that wasn't the fully story. Both teams effectively ran the football in this game with LSU rushing for 223 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 6.0 yards per carry while Ole Miss picked up 317 yards rushing and three touchdowns averaging 6.5 yards per carry.

The Ole Miss Rebels were led by running back Quinshon Judkins who rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown with 5.6 yards per carry. Judkins can't hurt the LSU Football team this weekend as he transferred to Ohio State.

The Tigers were also led by their running back Logan Diggs in the 2023 Magnolia Bowl. Diggs picked up 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns while averaging 5.3 yards per carry.

Diggs finished 2023 with the LSU Football team but suffered a serious knee injury in the Reliaquest Bowl. After the injury, Diggs entered the Transfer Portal and chose to head to Ole Miss after Quinshon Judkins left for Ohio State.

This weekend, Diggs won't have the chance to run all over his former teammates and his former teammates won't get the chance to face him. As Logan Diggs continues to deal with his knee injury, he's ruled out for this weekend's game.

The running back matchup in this game will instead be a matchup of LSU's true freshman star Caden Durham and Ole Miss' prized transfer portal addition Henry Parrish while both teams have also used a committee approach.
