The LSU Women's Basketball team entered Friday Afternoon with a chance to knock off the 2nd South Carolina who entered the game with a 16 game winning streak vs LSU, a 53 game winning streak in the SEC and a 68 game winning streak at home.

This game was slated to be an all out war where every shot was difficult to come by but, the first quarter made it seem like this may be a race to 100 with LSU leading 22-21. The Tigers found early success from three while South Carolina was taking advantage of LSU's drop coverage.

While the first quarter was a highlight reel of efficient offense, points were much harder to come by in the second quarter. LSU struggled with poor shot selection and turned the ball over too much which allowed South Carolina to take a 33-30 lead into the half.

Back to back terrible turnovers in the middle of the third quarter allowed South Carolina to take a nine point lead which felt commanding with how close this game was. Turnovers and a cold stretch shooting killed the Tigers allowing South Carolina to take a 10 point lead into the fourth quarter.

While LSU scored 22 in the first quarter, it took them until there was 5:12 left in this game as the Tigers offense didn't have their A-Game on Friday. The Tigers made this a tight game down the stretch but, couldn't make enough baskets to win the game

Aneesah Morrow was dominant once again recording a double double scoring 15 points while grabbing 16 rebounds. Flau'Jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams both scored 13 points for the Tigers shooting a combined 11 for 35. The area that hurt LSU the most was scoring off the bench as South Carolina's Bench scored 31 points while LSU's was shut out.

The Lady Tigers are right there with South Carolina despite losing by ten and if LSU gets a rematch it'll be a tightly contested game. The Tigers got a few unlucky bounces while the South Carolina crowd was raucous. The entire Country will now hope that these teams meet in Greenville for the SEC Tournament as the games are always enjoyable to watch.

The LSU Lady Tigers now return home to face Texas A&M on Sunday looking to start a new win streak after having this one broken.
