LSU Football is set for a matchup against FCS Southeastern Louisiana in Week 4 before heading to No. 13 Ole Miss next week. With such a big conference game lined up for next weekend, the Tigers have plenty of things to get in order before heading to Oxford. Most notably, a fast offensive start and a strong running game would be a welcome sight for Tiger fans against the Lions in Week 4.

LSU vs SLU betting odds: The LSU spread continues to grow

Betting odds for this in-state matchup weren't available right away, but were instead first posted by major US sportsbooks later in the week. Initially, LSU was favored by 39.5 points on FanDuel. That number continues to grow.

As of 9:00 a.m. CT on Saturday, September 20, the Tigers are now favored by a whopping 45.5 points. Unsurprisingly, oddsmakers and bettors alike are expecting LSU to take care of business against FCS Southeastern Louisiana in convincing fashion.

The total, or over/under, has also increased in recent days. It was first listed at 51.5 on FanDuel, but is now all the way up to 56.5. With such a small disparity between the spread and the total, oddsmakers are expecting the LSU offense to do the vast majority of the scoring. Again, that isn't surprising given the opponent, and a big day from the Tiger offense would be a great sight for LSU fans to see after some underwhelming efforts so far this season.

Going up against Ole Miss' high-powered offense next week, the LSU offense is going to need to be ready to roll. Lane Kiffin's squad has a tricky matchup in Week 4, as they are hosting Tulane. Ole Miss is favored by double digits, but Jon Sumrall and the Green Wave are more than capable of giving the Rebels some issues. That's worth monitoring for LSU fans.
