While the LSU Baseball team has a loaded roster, the face of the Tigers' success this season has been Left Handed Pitcher Kade Anderson. The sophomore starter has taken a massive leap for the Tigers in his second season, serving as the team's Friday starter and constantly starting the weekend off on a high note for LSU. The dominant season has sent Anderson flying up MLB Mock Drafts but it also has him in consideration for some of College Baseball's biggest awards.

The Golden Spikes Award is given annually to the best Amateur Baseball player in the Country with its first presentation coming in 1978. The LSU Baseball program has produced a pair of Golden Spikes Award winners with Ben McDonald taking the award home in 1989 and Dylan Crews winning the award in 2023.
As Anderson makes the Semifinalist list LSU has been represented more times than any other school with 18 All-Time selections across 12 years.
This season, Kade Anderson has been stellar for the Tigers with a 7-1 record posting a 3.47 ERA across 83 innings. Anderson ranks second in the Country with 133 strikeouts which is another impressive mark in Anderson's favor.
This year the College Baseball fans will have a chance to impact the Award as there is a fan vote that goes into the Golden Spikes Award. Fan voting opened on Sunday when the semifinalists were named and runs through May 28th when the voting closes. The finalists will be announced on June 4th when the fans can vote again before the Award is given out on June 21st.
