This past Sunday was a day that LSU Football fans won't forget for a long time. After another disappointing season, LSU made the decision to fire Brian Kelly in a bombshell move that had to happen. Kelly had lost the fan base and was never able to consistently win at a high level, which led to several seasons of frustration in Baton Rouge. He leaves LSU with a 19-10 record in SEC play and zero College Football Playoff appearances.
Potential Brian Kelly replacement would be earth shattering if it happened
Saturday night's lopsided 49-25 loss to Texas A&M in Death Valley was the last straw. Kelly's Tigers were thoroughly out-coached and out-played in front of their home crowd, which led to fans leaving for the exits in the second half.
As Sunday morning came around, Kelly was having trouble accessing the LSU Football facility. According to CBS Sports, Kelly's fingerprint to get into the LSU Football Operations Center didn't work, and it took several minutes and some help for the head coach to get through the door. He eventually made his way inside where things would continue to go downhill for him, as he was fired later that evening.
One has to wonder what was going through Kelly's mind when his fingerprint didn't work. Did he think it was over? Or did he just think it was an innocent error? Either way, he needed help getting into the building again later on Sunday, but by this time he had been informed of his firing.
Kelly's fingerprint not working to access the facility was wildly familiar to the situation of another former LSU Tiger. Jamal Adams went viral a few years ago when his fingerprint to get into the New York Jets' facility didn't work on several tries. Adams immediately thought he had been cut from the team, and the video meme still makes the rounds of social media on a regular basis.
