It was an uneventful week for the LSU Baseball team as the Tigers put together a perfect week sweeping North Dakota State in a two game weekday set before sweeping the weekend series against North Alabama. The Tigers entered the week as the Nation's top ranked team and remained perfect with SEC play on the horizon.
As a result of the Tigers perfect week, LSU remains the Nation's top team as SEC Play kicks off this week.

While Tennessee continues to push LSU, the Tigers were never going to be demoted for going 5-0 in a week. The Tigers win over Dallas Baptist University remains an impressive win as the Patriots are ranked 19th in the Country. Texas A&M entered the season as the top ranked team and continue their free fall as they're now ranked 19th after being ranked 14th last week.
The SEC is continuing to dominate in the early portion of the season with the Nation's top four teams, 5 of the Top 10, 8 of the Top 15, and 12 of the Top 25 teams. The biggest surge in the SEC has been by the Alabama Crimson Tide who started the year unranked but, behind Justin Lebron continue to fly up the rankings.
Jay Johnson rebuilt LSU's identity this offseason and it's panned out as the Tigers are now a well balanced offense. The Tigers have traded their home run or bust strategy in for an approach that has LSU leading the SEC in doubles while flooding the base paths with walks.
LSU's pitching staff has handled business as they haven't needed to be perfect with the Tigers offense in a rhythm. The Tigers weekend rotation still could undergo some changes when Gavin Guidry is back for LSU and as Freshman William Schmidt has been impressive.
This week the Tigers will look to remain on top as LSU faces off against Xavier on Tuesday before facing Missouri in a three game weekend series.
