The next few months leading into Spring practices will be a full blown push for the LSU Football team on the recruiting trail. The past few weeks have been filled with LSU offering top recruits in the 2026 recruiting class as LSU looks to build out its 2026 recruiting class. The Tigers have further ramped up its recruiting efforts hosting several top recruits and commits on visits.
While the 2026 recruiting class is on the front burner, the 2027 recruiting class is also a priority at this time of the offseason. As 7 on 7 events and recruiting camps begin to ramp up with the end of the High School seasons, staffs around the Country will get a better idea of how top recruits stack up against eachother.
The LSU Football team offered elite five-star edge rusher KJ Green a scholarship this weekend continuing to build its 2027 class out. One 2027 recruit that already had a scholarship offer from LSU is Quarterback Trae Taylor who was participating in Battle South Florida which is a top event for recruits. While playing in the event, Trae Taylor was sporting an LSU towel which may give us some insight into how he feels about LSU early on.

While at the event, Trae Taylor also expressed interest in returning to LSU this Spring for a visit along with some other top schools.

This fall, Joe Sloan offered Trae Taylor a scholarship along with several other top quarterbacks in the Class. Sloan also made the trip out to Illinois during the Bye Week which shows the level of interest he has in Taylor.
Given the fact that LSU didn't sign a quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class as Bryce Underwood flipped his commitment it makes finding a long term plan at quarterback even more important these next two cycles. As most of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting class are already committed, LSU may need to circle 2027 as the year they land an elite quarterback.
This Spring, it'll be interesting to see which signal callers LSU hosts for visits as the top recruits will only start to fly off the board the next few months.
