Last weekend, the LSU Football team was on a bye week but, it was still a busy weekend in Baton Rouge. The Tigers hosted several commits as well as top recruiting targets on their official visits in what was a loaded recruiting weekend.

One of the recruits that came to Baton Rouge was safety recruit Jacob Bradford. According to On3, the Baton Rouge native is a three star recruit, ranked as the 388th ranked player in the class and the 36th ranked safety. The biggest hurdle for LSU was Bradford's Houston commitment as Willie Fritz has been LSU's biggest recruiting rival since he left Tulane.

Fresh off of his official visit, the LSU Football program now no longer has to worry about Houston as Bradford has decommitted.

The news is massive for LSU's recruiting efforts especially after Bradford visited Baton Rouge last weekend. The Tigers could potentially land a commitment as soon as this weekend as Bradford will be in attendance for the Ole Miss game. Winning a big game can often be a launch pad for recruiting as players love to commit in the locker room after a big win.

Landing Jacob Bradford would give LSU a massive boost on the recruiting trail in the 2026 cycle as well. Jacob's younger brother Blaine is the ninth ranked player in the 2026 class and the top safety recruit in the class. LSU has already cracked the top five for Blaine Bradford and landing his brother would only strengthen their case.
