Lane Kiffin has done plenty of work revamping LSU's roster via the transfer portal. Kiffin has brought in 40+ players through the portal, including some of the biggest names on the market such as QB Sam Leavitt, EDGE Princewill Umanmielen, and OT Jordan Seaton. Additions like that have Kiffin's inaugural portal class at LSU is ranked No. 1 in the country by 247Sports, and has already instilled high expectations for the Tigers in 2026.

The most noteworthy departures for LSU came on the offensive line. A total of nine Tiger O linemen decided to enter the portal, including four starters from this past season. Those losses make Kiffin's signing of 5-star Colorado transfer Jordan Seaton even more impactful.
When Michael Van Buren and Colin Hurley decided to test the portal waters, LSU was left with zero scholarship quarterbacks on the 2026 roster. But Kiffin landed the No. 1 player in the portal by signing former Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt, and brought great depth to LSU's QB room with the additions of former USC QB Husan Longstreet and former Elon QB Landen Clark.
Kiffin also secured a big win with the return of RB Caden Durham, who originally chose to enter the portal but ultimately decided to return to Baton Rouge for his junior season.
All in all, while losing some contributors from last season stings, Kiffin ultimately bolstered LSU's roster for 2026 in multiple ways. Tiger fans are hoping that translates to an appearance in the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2019.
