The transfer portal has become one of the most fascinating aspects of College Football as its hard to keep up with where certain players are playing at some points. The LSU Football team is one of the programs that loses a ton of players every year because of the level that LSU recruits at.
The position that is the most interesting to watch in the transfer portal is the Quarterbacks as they're constantly on the move in the pursuit of a path to playing time. This offseason, two former LSU quarterbacks were in the transfer portal once again.
TJ Finley signed with LSU back in the 2020 recruiting class and was able to start a few times as a Freshman. He'd then transfer to Auburn where he spent two seasons playing for the Tigers finishing his tenure with 7 touchdowns and five picks. From there, Finley spent a season at Texas State where he had the best year of his career passing for 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns with 8 interceptions. This past season, Finley transferred to Western Kentucky but, he suffered an injury and never won his job back.
Now, Finley has picked his fifth schools and will return to Louisiana to play for the Tulane Green Wave.
Walker Howard signed with LSU in the 2022 recruiting class but, he spent just one season with the Tigers before entering the transfer portal. Howard landed at Ole Miss where he spent two seasons behind Jaxson Dart but, was seemingly passed on the depth chart by Austin Simmons. Howard entered the transfer portal again and like TJ Finley ended up back in Louisiana.
While both quarterbacks landed in Louisiana, neither Tulane or ULL is on LSU's schedule meaning we'll have to watch both former Tigers from a far.
