While LSU's season officially came to a close on New Year's Eve, the Awards for the season haven't stopped rolling in to Baton Rouge. The majority of the Offseason Awards this year have been given to Left Tackle Will Campbell and deservingly so. Campbell added First Team All SEC, The Jacobs Blocking Trophy, and Consensus All American Honors to his lengthy list of accomplishments this offseason.
The latest honor for Will Campbell comes as he was named to ESPN's College Football All American Team as a First Team All American.
Will Campbell was named a First Team All American at Tackle with the other tackle selection once again being Texas' Kelvin Banks as the pair have had a clean sweep of the All American honors along with both winning the SEC's Jennings Blocking Trophy.
This season, Will Campbell continued to be one of the most reliable offensive linemen in the Country playing in all 866 offensive snaps at Left Tackle this season dominating in the process. Throughout his entire career, Will Campbell only allowed 4 sacks, 2 as a Freshman and 2 as a Junior which is remarkable considering he logged 1,593 pass blocking snaps.
As Campbell departs for the NFL Draft he's arguably the greatest offensive tackle in LSU History. Will Campbell is one of 41 LSU Tigers in the history of the program to be named a Consensus All American, and the first offensive lineman since 2004 to accomplish the feat at LSU. The next stop for Will Campbell is the NFL Draft where he'll look to become the first offensive tackle in LSU History to be selected in the First Round.
