Vadal Alexander enters the 2015 season as the most seasoned player on the Tigers offense.

The 6-foot-6, 330 pound senior offensive lineman is coming off a season in which he was named second team All-SEC. He is also on the preseason watch list for the Lombardi and Outland Awards.

The discussion on Thursday, though, centered around the team’s outlook for the upcoming season.

Per The Advocate:

"“We feel we were better than an 8-5 team,” he said. “We have a lot to improve.”"

Kendell Beckwith agreed with Alexander’s sentiment. The junior linebacker provided a similar answer when asked about the Tigers’ record last season.

"“We’re going to use that 8-5 record as motivation.”"

The eight wins tied the lowest for an LSU football team since 1995.

Beckwith will be called upon to play a major role for the Tigers in 2015. He took over the starting middle linebacker job midway through last season, and thrived in his expanded role with the team.

The 6-foot-2, 245 pound linebacker finished the year with 77 tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and an interception returned for a touchdown. As a result, he has been named to the watch list for the Butkus Award, given to the nation’s top linebacker.
