Okay, so the LSU and Oklahoma football programs do technically have a non-conference series scheduled on the books.
Unfortunately, that will not be happening until the 2027 season at the earliest. This means that many of the players that will be lining up on the field have yet to play in their first youth football game, and any hope of a matchup between legendary head coaches Les Miles and Bob Stoops is all but shot.
And honestly, who would not want to see that matchup happen?
Stoops is a notorious SEC-hater, who never balks at an opportunity to denounce the conference that is widely considered the best in college football. Stoops told ESPN the following in 2014 regarding Texas A&M’s schedule:
"“They have Lamar, Rice, SMU and Louisiana Monroe. Boy those are all a bunch of toughies, right? We have nine conference games. So if [Texas A&M] was fortunate enough to be in the SEC championship game, they would play nine conference games at the end of the day and they have all those four ‘toughies’ to go with it. “We have nine conference games and we’re playing Tennessee. In a few years we have Ohio State, we just came off a series with Notre Dame and Florida State. So that’s like 10 conference games.”"
Miles, meanwhile, is one of the two SEC coaches that has defeated Stoops in his past two national championship game appearances.

The Tigers beat the Sooners 21-14 the last time they met, in the 2004 BCS National Championship Game.
A showdown between LSU and Oklahoma would feature two of the premier programs in college football, as well as two of its winningest coaches.
And with just over a nine-hour drive separating Norman, Okla. and Baton Rouge, La., the road trip would also be the most feasible on this list.
