Jamal Pettigrew locked in for LSU, not taking anymore visits
Four-star tight end Jamal Pettigrew will not be taking anymore official visits before National Signing Day, claiming that LSU is the best option for him.
A little over a week remains before the February 3rd National Signing Day, but four-star tight end Jamal Pettigrew has no doubt were he belongs.
The highly regarded Louisiana prospect committed to the LSU Tigers in January 2015, and made it clear this week that he has no intentions on withdrawing that pledge.
Pettigrew told SEC Country on Monday that he has canceled his final two official visits with SEC rivals Alabama and Florida, stating that LSU ‘was just the best option.’

"“I was going to take official visits to Alabama last weekend and Florida this weekend, but I sat down and looked at my options,” Pettigrew told SEC Country. “LSU was just the best option … for both me and my family.”"
The announcement comes a little more than a week after Pettigrew’s official visit with the Tigers, one that had a profound effect in making a positive final impression on the St. Augustine High School (New Orleans, La.) star.
Pettigrew, a 6-foot-6, 229-pound tight end, is LSU’s only tight end commit for the class of 2016. He is listed by the 247sports Composite as the No. 9 tight end in the country and the No. 16 overall prospect from the state of Louisiana.
Pettigrew is the cousin of former first-round NFL Draft pick and current Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew.
