The LSU baseball team returns to Alex Box Stadium on Wednesday, as the Tigers host the University of New Orleans Privateers.

The LSU baseball team returns to action on Wednesday night against the University of New Orleans Privateers, with a familiar face set to appear in the opposing dugout.

Former LSU star Blake Dean is in his first year as the head coach at UNO. Dean played for the Tigers from 2007-2010, earning First-Team All-American honors in 2008 after batting .353 with 20 home runs and 71 RBIs.

Dean was a vital piece of the 2009 LSU team that defeated Texas to win the College World Series.

The Tigers (12-3) enter Wednesday having won eight of their past nine games, but will face a serious test against a UNO team that has posted a 13-3 record this season.

Junior centerfielder Jake Fraley will look to continue an impressive 2016 campaign in which he has emerged as one of the brightest stars in the SEC. Fraley is batting .400 with 21 runs and 11 stolen bases on the season, and is riding a 10-game hitting streak.

Junior right-hander Alden Cartwright is expected to take the mound for LSU. Cartwright is 2-0 this season with a 1.80 ERA.

First pitch for Wednesday’s contest is schedule for 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will not be televised, but live streaming will be available via Watch ESPN.
