LSU football: QB Artur Sitkowski is OC Matt Canada’s guy
By Crissy Froyd
For its 2018 recruiting class, the LSU football program has yet to lock down a quarterback commitment. But offensive coordinator Matt Canada already knows who he wants.
Canada has had his sights set on New Jersey turned Florida pro-style QB Artur Sitkowski since his days with the Pittsburgh Panthers. Even after transitioning to an entirely different program in the LSU Tigers, Sitkowski is still Canada’s top pick.
With Canada the driving force behind it, LSU offered Sitkowski on Jan. 30.
“Me and him had a good relationship at Pitt, and he brought that forward to LSU. It’s a big-time program and they need a quarterback in the 2018 class,” Sitkowski said in an interview with SEC Country.
“He said: ‘You’re my guy. I want you down at LSU as fast as possible.’ I’m going to build a relationship with the coaches and see what LSU has to offer.”

The 6’4, 220 pound QB currently sits at No. 4 pro-style passer in his recruiting class, and would make a great first signal-caller for the Tigers’ 2018 class.
And with the starting QB position still fair game at LSU, Sitkowski may be able to start early at one of the top SEC programs in the nation if he proves himself early on. Danny Etling will be moving on after this season, and Brandon Harris will be transferring out. This leaves a toss-up between a pro-style Myles Brennan and dual-threat Lowell Narcisse.
So far, Sitkowski has received a total of 27 scholarship offers. He has since narrowed his options down to LSU, UCLA, Miami, Florida, Rutgers and Wisconsin. He plans to make his first visit to LSU either this spring or summer, so it will be up to the Tigers to make a lasting first impression upon the young athlete.
