The LSU offense failed to find much of a rhythm in 2025. A lingering abdominal injury for Garrett Nussmeier didn't help, but the offense as a whole struggled mightily to put points on the board on a consistent basis last season. In total, LSU finished 14th in the SEC in points per game (22.8), dead last in yards per game (333.5), and infamously never scored more than 25 points against an FBS opponent during the regular season.

However, Lane Kiffin has been hard at work revamping the Tiger offense in his early days at the helm of the LSU Football program. Known as The Portal King, Kiffin utilized the transfer portal to bring 40 players to LSU from other college football programs.

LSU now boasts the No. 1 transfer portal class in the country, which has Tiger fans fired up about Kiffin can do in Year 1. Within that group, Kiffin's biggest moves on the offensive side of the ball have the potential to lead the LSU offense to a significant turnaround in 2026.

QB Sam Leavitt

The most obvious name to mention when talking about an offensive turnaround for LSU in 2026 is quarterback Sam Leavitt. The former Arizona State gunslinger was ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the transfer portal by On3, and brings a wealth of talent and experience to LSU. In his career, Leavitt has racked up 4,652 passing yards to go along with 36 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He's also totaled 816 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.

Leavitt led Arizona State to a Big 12 title and an appearance in the College Football Playoff in 2024, while his 2025 season was cut short due to an ankle injury he suffered against Houston on October 25. He underwent a procedure a few days later, and missed the final four games of ASU's regular season as well as the Sun Bowl against Duke. However, Leavitt should be ready to roll for the season opener against Clemson on September 5. He is already among the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy next season, and gives the LSU offense plenty of potential in Kiffin's first season in Baton Rouge.

OT Jordan Seaton

When signing such a valuable quarterback like Leavitt, it's important to keep him protected - especially when considering the fact that Leavitt is coming off a shortened season due to his ankle injury. Kiffin found the perfect protector of his prized QB in the form of former Colorado OT Jordan Seaton. Seaton was ranked as the No. 2 offensive lineman in the portal by Saturday Blitz, and the 6'5" 330-pound lineman is the perfect fit for an LSU offensive line looking to put forth a bounce back season in 2025.

The 6'5" 330-pound lineman allowed just 5 sacks over the course of 948 pass blocking snaps in his two seasons with Colorado. Furthermore, Seaton's pass-blocking grade of 91.4 this past season was the best in the entire country. That elite skill set has Seaton projected as a First Round selection in next year's NFL Draft.

WR Jayce Brown

Kiffin made sure to make a splash when finding new WR talent to bring to Baton Rouge via the portal, and he landed one of the most exciting receivers available in the form of Kansas State star Jayce Brown. Brown comes to Baton Rouge after three seasons in Manhattan where he racked up 1,972 yards and 15 total touchdowns with the Wildcats. He was Kansas State's leading receiver in each of the last two seasons, and he could be in line for even bigger numbers in Kiffin's offense at LSU.

Arizona State WR Jordyn Dyson totaled 75 catches for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns with Leavitt at ASU in 2024, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Brown flirt with those numbers in 2026 with the Tigers. As Leavitt's projected No. 1 WR target, it wouldn't be surprising to see Brown push for the 1,000-yard mark next season. With Brown leading the way, LSU's group of wide receivers have endless possibilities in 2026.
