Jayden Daniels has dealt with several injuries so far this season. After a sensational rookie campaign in which he was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2024, Daniels' sophomore NFL season has been more of a bumpy road.

Daniels missed Washington's Week 3 and 4 games with a knee sprain. He returned for three games but then suffered a leg injury in Week 7 against the Cowboys. After missing Week 8 against the Chiefs, Daniels returned to the field in Week 9 to face the Seahawks. However, he suffered yet another injury, this time dislocating his left elbow.

Jayden Daniels set to return for Commanders in Week 14

After missing three more games, Daniels is set to make another return to action. On Friday, Commanders head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that Daniels will start for Washington on Sunday against Minnesota.

Daniels' dislocated elbow occurred late in the 4th quarter against the Seahawks when the game was out of reach. The Commanders were trailing 38-7 with under eight minutes left in the game, but Daniels was still out there. He was sacked by Seattle's Drake Thomas when his left arm got twisted to the ground causing the injury. Quinn received plenty of criticism for that coaching decision.

Marcus Mariota has been Washington's QB1 in Daniels' absence. On the season, Daniels has thrown for 1,184 yards and eight touchdowns with two interceptions. He's also rushed for 262 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

Not having Daniels healthy has sent the Commanders spiraling in 2025. After being just one game away from the Super Bowl last season, Washington is just 3-9 so far this season. Needless to say, Commanders fans are happy to see Daniels back on track to play. Kick-off between the Commanders and Vikings is set for 12:00 p.m. CT on Sunday, December 7.
