After some late drama, LSU has officially signed Lamar Brown. Brown is the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 class, making him one of the most sought-after recruits in recent cycles.

The Baton Rouge native met with Lane Kiffin shortly after he was named LSU's next head coach. The meeting seems to have gone well, and now Brown has officially put pen to paper to become a Tiger.

Many Tiger fans expected Brown to sign immediately when the Early Signing Period opened on Wednesday. However, earlier this week it was reported that Brown was delaying making things official with LSU.

His agent said that Brown was still "committed" to LSU for the time being, but that didn't stop Tiger fans from sweating. Brown would have to wait until February if he didn't sign by today, but Tiger fans are now breathing a sigh of relief as he is officially set to join Kiffin's first team in Baton Rouge.

Brown's recruitment came down to a battle between LSU and Texas A&M, with the Baton Rouge native deciding to stay home and attend LSU. He committed to the Tigers on July 10. However, Texas A&M entered the mix once again after Brian Kelly was fired on October 26.

Brown was in attendance for LSU's embarrassing 49-25 loss to the Aggies back on October 25, and A&M fans began chanting "We want Lamar" as LSU fans headed for the exits in the blowout loss. Miami (FL) was reportedly also "pushing hard" to flip Brown away from LSU, but both efforts proved unsuccessful.

Losing Brown would have been a devastating blow for Kiffin and LSU. But LSU's new coach was able to hang on to the local product, and Tiger fans are beaming with excitement.
